INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Last Updated

This system is extremely simple to install, but installation must be precise. It is vital that the pin breaks under the load for which it has been designed. Therefore the rail must be positioned on the pin so that the centre of the rail is directly over the setting mark (groove) on the pin. If the rail centre is off the setting mark (groove) by 30mm the effective strength of the pin will be 43% greater than with the rail installed on the groove.

Step 1. Decided on the maximum height of the obstacle, mark that point then lower the mark by the diametre of th log plus 20 mm. Mark in the centre of the post.

Step 2. Drill a hole 37.9 mm diametre directly through the post.

Step 3. Insert the sleeve (metal tube) into the post and drive it in until the marker line is no longer visible. DO NOT DAMAGE THE SLEEVE FACE.

Step 4. Insert the Frangible Pin into the sleeve.

Step 5. Place the log on the PIN.

Step 6. Adjust the Pin 'Setting mark' so that the mark is exactly under the centre of the log. If you are using a small diametre log and cannot adjust the mark in far enough put packing between the log and the post. If you are using a large diametre log and cannot adjust the mark out far enough cut a 'V' in the log next to the post. This will allow you to

The post locating sleeve is inserted into the support post, the frangible pin is set in the sleeve and locked into position with the retaining clips. The log is then placed on the pins and secured with a tie.
